Classic Five — How to play

How a turn works

  1. Roll all five dice.
  2. Keep as many dice as you like and reroll the rest.
  3. You may reroll once more — three rolls per turn in total.
  4. Record the result in any open category. If nothing fits, strike a category for zero.

Each of the 13 categories is filled exactly once. After 13 turns each the game ends, and the highest total wins.

The upper-section bonus

The upper section — ones through sixes — scores the sum of the matching faces. Reach 63 points or more across it and you get a 35-point bonus. 63 is exactly four of each number, which is why settling for three of a kind up top is a small debt you have to repay in the lower section.
