The poker-style scorecard for quick, elegant rounds without mental math.
How to play
- 5 dice, up to 3 rolls per turn.
- The app shows a fixed poker scorecard to start with.
- Each turn books exactly one open category.
- Once all categories are filled, the highest score wins.
Scoring at a glance
| Pair | Highest pair |
|---|---|
| Two pairs | Both pairs count |
| Three of a kind | 3 alike count |
| Small straight | 1-2-3-4-5 = 25 |
| Big straight | 2-3-4-5-6 = 25 |
| Full house | 3 alike + 2 alike = 30 |
| Four of a kind | 4 alike count |
| Poker | 5 alike = 50 |
| Chance | Any sum |
How a turn works
- Roll all five dice.
- Keep what you need and reroll the rest — up to three rolls per turn.
- Record the result in one of the nine categories. If nothing fits, strike a category for zero.
Each of the nine categories is filled exactly once; the highest total then wins.
What all nine categories score
| Pair | face × 2 (the highest pair counts) |
|---|---|
| Two pairs | both pairs added together |
| Three of a kind | face × 3 |
| Small straight (1-2-3-4-5) | 25 |
| Big straight (2-3-4-5-6) | 25 |
| Full house | 30 |
| Four of a kind | face × 4 |
| Poker (five alike) | 50 |
| Chance | sum of all five dice |
The key difference from Yahtzee-style play: pair, three and four of a kind score only the matched dice — three 4s is 12 points, not the sum of all five dice.
Würfelpoker, Escalero, Poker Dice
Würfelpoker is known as Escalero in Switzerland and as Poker Dice in English. The principle is always the same: a poker hand made from five dice instead of cards. On DICING.APP the game is called Würfelpoker and brings nine categories from pair to poker.
Würfelpoker FAQ
What does the small straight score?
25 points for 1-2-3-4-5. The big straight (2-3-4-5-6) also scores 25 — unlike Yahtzee-style games, which pay 30 and 40.
How is Würfelpoker scored?
Pair, three and four of a kind score face value × the number of matched dice: three 5s is 15 points. Both straights pay 25, a full house 30, poker 50, and chance is the sum of all five dice.
Does four of a kind count as two pairs?
No. Two pairs needs two distinct faces, so four 6s scores zero there. A full house does qualify, because the triple supplies one of the pairs.
How does it differ from Yahtzee or Kniffel?
Nine poker categories instead of thirteen, a two-pairs category, both straights at 25 and a full house at 30 — and above all, pair, three and four of a kind score only the matched dice rather than all five. There is also no upper-section bonus.
How many people can play?
As many as are at the table — enter every name in the app and the scorecard grows with you.
